We’re looking for volunteers on the North Shore and South Shore to help spread the word about our Earth Day Cleanup events on April 22 in South Lake Tahoe and Tahoe City.
As spring snow melts, litter left behind becomes more visible and can harm wildlife and the clarity of Lake Tahoe. Our Earth Day Cleanups bring the community together to take action and protect the Lake, and flyering plays an important role in increasing awareness and participation.
Volunteers may walk, bike, take public transit, or drive to post or distribute flyers at community‑friendly locations. We ask that volunteers plan to spend at least one hour, though additional time is welcome. Time spent preparing, printing, and distributing flyers may count toward volunteer hours; please be sure to share your total time so hours can be accurately recorded.
This is a flexible, independent volunteer opportunity available on both the North Shore and South Shore starting on March 26 running until April 17. Printed flyers are available for pickup at the Keep Tahoe Blue office, or a PDF can be provided to print and share on your own.
We will provide:
- Earth Day Cleanup event flyers (printed or PDF, based on your preference)
- Tape and any other necessary materials
- A suggested list of locations where flyers may be posted
What to bring and wear:
- Keep Tahoe Blue branded clothing or accessories (shirt, hat, name tag, etc.) so you are clearly identified as a Keep Tahoe Blue representative
- A full reusable water bottle
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Layers in case of changing weather
- Any snacks you may want during your outing
Please email Julie@keeptahoeblue.org if you have any questions or would like me to share the flyer PDF with you to print or distribute digitally with your work, community, or social groups. Thank you in advance for helping us spread the word and support our Earth Day Cleanup events!
