Join the Keep Tahoe Blue Sustainability Team at Zephyr Cove Resort over Fourth of July weekend to help prevent litter and divert waste at one of Tahoe’s busiest holiday destinations. Volunteers will play a key role in keeping the shoreline clean while engaging with visitors and promoting responsible recreation.
This opportunity takes place outdoors at Zephyr Cove Resort, with a mix of shade and sun throughout the day.
Volunteer tasks may include:
- Roving the property to pick up litter
- Supporting the “Recycle Store” by handing out prizes to visitors who sort and bring in recyclables or trash
- Sorting collected materials into recycle, compost, and landfill bins
Event details:
- Dates: July 3–5
- Shifts: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM (volunteers can sign up for both shifts if available)
- Location: 760 US-50, Zephyr Cove, NV 89448
- Parking: Free onsite parking provided to volunteers - let the parking kiosk attendant know you are there to volunteering with Zero Waste and ask for Macey
- Lunch and snacks will be provided
- Volunteers who complete a full 7 AM – 7 PM shift will receive a special prize
What to bring: Volunteers should wear comfortable closed-toe shoes and come prepared with sun protection, layers, a reusable water bottle, and any snacks they may want. Wearing Keep Tahoe Blue gear and a nametag is encouraged if you have them.

If you sign up after Thursday, July 2, you will not receive a final details email before your shift. Please still come to Zephyr Cove Resort at the start of your selected shift and ask for Macey.
